This research project examines the relationship between rhetoric and self-constructive writing via Twitter. Twitter is a multi-modal platform with a diverse population that utilizes the application/website for a variety of reasons that can all be connected to rhetoric, whether purposeful or not. This is accomplished with primary research in the form of abbreviated case studies and textual analysis synthesized with secondary sources.The findings are applied to the field of writing studies and why such research is necessary and relevant.

Throughout this site, I will be exploring constructive writing on Twitter.

Rhetoric's Presence in Social Media

How is rhetoric present in social media? Is it used purposefully to achieve a certain end/purpose, or is it underlying?

Exploration of Applications

Individuals use Twitter for a variety of different reasons. This section will analyze how each sect of Twitter is expressive and implements rhetoric.

Purposefully Curated Images

Twitter allows for metaphorical hindsight. Users can, but do not always, carefully choose how their image is projected on the site for specific reasons.

Relevance to Writing Studies

As technology develops and society evolves with it, recognizing how this impacts aspects of the field of Writing Studies is important for application as well as creating a greater understanding of the field.

Research Analysis

This lends to the research process, including its fallacies and how the research could potentially improve or be expanded.
